I attended a Jumat service today, 24th June, 2022 at FGC, Malali, Kaduna. The Khutubah was as strange as the seriousness the Imam attached to it.
The sermon was basically on the *strength of the Muslims in Nigeria.*
The Imam started from an Hadith reported by Anas ibn Malik, where Rasulullahi cautioned the Muslims on patience. Muslims would see bad leaders in the future. The Muslim must be patient. It is not allowed in the Sharia for Muslims to demonstrate against a ruling government.
The Imam’s tempo then changed.
He said that in the dispensation we find ourselves now, a non Muslim will rule the Muslims if we decide to be complacent.
There exists a practice, where Rasulullahi, salallahu alayhi wa ssalam, ordered Muslims to show their large number, our strength, in any community we live in. This is often displayed whenever it is time for Eid prayers. All Muslims must go to the Eid grounds during Eidul Fitri and Eidul Adha: both men and women, even if the women are off prayers.
The new wave of advertising our strength is to go for our *PVC* registration that is about to close in eight days to come.
The Imam passionately appealed to the entire Jamah to carry the news far and wide so that all Muslims will be aware and register for the PVC. *This has turned to another form of Jihad* because this is a good way our large number would be acknowledged. The Muslims must continue to call the shots in a system of governance we are forced to adopt, DEMOCRACY.
