Ramla bint Abi Sufyan was the daughter of Abi Sufyan; one of the leaders of Quraish. She was born in 589 CE. She is also known as Umm Habiba and was the wife of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH).
Ramla bint Abi Sufyan had married before her marriage to Prophet (PBUH), but her husband became Christian and thus they were divorced. She was in Abbyssinia while this happened. Negus represented Prophet (PBUH) in the marriage, as Prophet (PBUH) was not present during the marriage ceremony. She returned to Madina after 6years of marriage when Prophet (PBUH) was 60 years old. To Ahadith of Prophet (PBUH) are also narrated by Ramla bint Abi Sufyan.
She passed away in the year 666 CE and was laid to rest in Jannat al-Baqee.
