REASONS WHY PEOPLE DEVIATE FROM THE CORRECT AQEEDAH (ISLAMIC BELIEF)

The Deviation from the Correct Aqeedah has many causes, which should be identified.
.
1. Ignorance of the Correct Aqeedah due to turning away from studying and instructing it, or lack of consideration or concern for it till a era is raised not realizing the Aqeedah and never realizing that which opposes it and what contradicts it. The fact is then deemed to be falsehood and falsehood to be the fact, as Umar Ibn Khattab (radhi allahu anhu) stated, ‘Verily, the bonds of Islam will be destroyed one after the other when there come up in Islam individuals who have no idea or acknowledge Jahiliyah (ignorance).’

2. Bigotry (ta’assub) in direction of that, which the ancestors had been upon and adhering to it even when it was false, and abandoning what opposes it, even when it was the fact. As Allah says, ‘When it’s stated to them, ‘Follow what Allah has despatched down.’ They say, ‘Nay! We shall comply with what we discovered our fathers following.’ (Would they do this!) Even although their fathers didn’t perceive something nor had been they guided?’ [Soorah al-Baqarah (2): 170]

3. Blind-Following (Taqleed) by accepting individuals’s statements in Aqeedah with out realizing its proof or degree of authenticity, as is the case of the Jahmiyyah and Mutazilah, and Ash’aaris and Soofis and others, whereby they (blindly) adopted their students of deviation who preceded them and thus, they had been misguided and went astray from the right beliefs.

4. Extremism or Exaggeration (in honoring) the Awliya and Saliheen (the righteous) and elevating them above their standing the place it’s believed that they create advantages and stop hurt, in a fashion, which none has the potential besides Allah. Taking them as intermediaries between Allah and His creation in fulfilling wants and answering the duaa till the matter turns into their worship aside from Allah. Seeking nearness to their tombs by way of sacrifices, vows (nadhr), supplication, searching for help and asking for assist like what occurred amongst the individuals of Nuh concerning the pious, after they stated, ‘You shall not depart your gods, nor shall you allow Wadd, nor Suwa’, nor Yaghuth, nor Ya’uq, nor Nasr (names of the idols).’ [Soorah Nuh (71):23] Such is the case of the grave-worshippers of in the present day in many international locations.
