I have listened to some women especially the elites, educated, celebrities and those championing “Feminism” saying if not for children, they will never go into marriage.

From my little research, what most of these ladies want is freedom. They don’t want to be under a man and yet they want to enjoy the sweetness of Marriage.

My dear sisters, Marriage is beyond having children , though all couples pray to have children in their marriages because children are fruits of marriage.

Most Prophets of Allah prayed to Allah to bless them with children.

Prophet Ibrahim(A.S) and Zakariyau(A.S) are great exemplary models of giving birth at an old age.

May Allah answer the prayers of those seeking for the fruits of the womb aamin.

Infertility can affect a man as it affects a woman. In Yoruba land, whenever a couple have a delay in child birth, they put the blame on the woman which in most cases, may not be true.

They can even advise the man to marry another woman which may not be a solution to his problem. There are so many benefits attached to marriage.

These are:
1. Companionship

2.Tranquility and peace of mind.

3.Sexual enjoyment

4.Mental and psychological balance.

Companionship
Marriage will create companionship and give you the opportunity to share your opinions, views and problems with your partner.

Loneliness can cause health challenges and mental disorder. It is possible for Allah to leave only Adam in the paradise, but He created Hawau to keep his company.

Tranquility and peace of mind
A good marriage where there is love, affection and co-operation will definitely bring about tranquility and peace of mind according to the word of Allah.

Sexual enjoyment

Sexual enjoyment is another benefit of marriage. Though some irresponsible people say that sex can be gotten anywhere and with risk of diseases.

Islam says no to illegitimate sexual intercourse except with your lawful partner.

The Prophet (S.A.W) said: You will receive reward if you cohabitate legally and you will be punished if you do it illegally.

Both couple must enjoy sex. It is totally wrong for a man to look at his wife like a prostitute if the woman is demanding sex, because it is her right.

A woman who denies her husband sex without any cogent reason will be cursed by the angel.

There is difference between sex to produce children and sex for enjoyment.

A man must be up and doing in this aspect. You must not be “Sekan daku” Do one round and faint for hours.

You can get lawful foods and herbs with no side effects to boost your sexual life. Make your partner enjoy sex.

Even in the month of Ramadan, Allah allows couple to cohabitate in the night till fajr.

Respect and honour

Marriage brings respect and honour. People respect you when you are married. An un-married woman is like a public property, almost every dick and Harry will propose to her.

Most of these people are not interested in marriage but just to have a taste and abandon her.

Psychological and mental balance

Marriage makes you psychologically and mentally balanced.
Loneliness can lead to high blood pressure and mental disorder.

So if you meet a lady or man who tells you that he only needs marriage to get children, abeg run from him or her.

Marriage is beyond having children alone. Aishat bint Abubabkr was the youngest wife of the Prophet(S.A.W) and the most beloved to him, yet she didn’t have a child for Rasulullahi(S.A.W).

May Allah bless our families 🙏 aamin.

Jazakumullahu khayran fi duniyah wa-l-akhirat aamin.
