Abu Huraira رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُ reported: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said:
The best of you in Islam are those with the best character, if they have religious understanding.
(Musnad Aḥmad 9880, Grade: Sahih)
Malik ibn Anas, may Allah have mercy on him, said:
Verily, it is the duty of a student of knowledge to behave with dignity, tranquility, and reverence, and to follow the way of those who came before him.
