What is a hormonal imbalance?Hormones are your body’s chemical messengers. Produced in the endocrine glands,
these powerful chemicals travel around your bloodstream telling tissues and organs what to do.
They help control many of your body’s major processes, including metabolism and reproduction.
When you have a hormonal imbalance, you have too much or too little of a certain hormone. Even tiny changes can have serious effects throughout your whole body.

Seed cycling, using flax seeds and pumpkin seeds during follicular phase
.
chia, sunflower and sesame seed during luteal phaseWhy Seeds?
Seeds have hulls that contain “lignans” which can help your body reduce excessive estrogen and natural oils that are used to bind hormone levels.
How It Works
A well-balanced body has an equal amount of progesterone, essential for maintaining pregnancy, and estrogen, vital in regulating your cycles.
a woman’s body follows the cycle of the moon and goes through two phases: follicular phase and the luteal phase.
“During the follicular phase, an egg follicle on an ovary gets ready to release an egg.” It continues with the luteal phase that starts on ovulation day.
During the follicular phase, days one through 14, you’d be taking seeds for estrogen, flax and pumpkin seeds.
Flax seeds are high in lignans, and pumpkin seeds are high in zinc, necessary for the creation of progesterone. Days 15 to 28, also known as the second half of the cycle,
sunflower seeds and sesame seeds are the big kahunas for progesterone this round.
Seed Amount
The seeds should be organic and raw and whole if possible. One tablespoon of each freshly ground seed is all that is needed each day.
It is essential that the seeds are ground, not whole. Whole seeds won’t absorb their nutrients; instead, they will pass through your body.
You can add them to your smoothie, over your salad, in a sauce, or include them in delicious treats.
Using seeds is a natural, effective way to help support and nourish, bringing restoration back to your body.
Food that help in balancing hormones
Avocados
Avocados are loaded with beta-sitosterol, which can effect blood cholesterol levels and help balance the stress hormone cortisol,
The plant sterols present in avocados also have an effect on estrogen and progesterone, the two hormones responsible for regulating ovulation and menstrual cycles, according to LIVESTRONG
Broccoli
This cruciferous vegetable can help maintain estrogen balance, and since it is so high in calcium, it can also help with premenstrual syndrome, according to LIVESTRONG.
“Broccoli contains phytoestogenic compounds which may promote beneficial estrogen metabolism, helping to rid environmental, or ‘bad’ estrogens from the body,”
Pomegranate
This antioxidant-filled fruit can help block excess estrogen production in the body,
according to a study from the American Association for Cancer Research. “Pomegranates have a natural compound that may inhibit the enzyme in women’s bodies that converts estrone into estradiol,
which is a powerful estrogen that may play a role in origin of hormone dependent cancers,”
Beans
“Beans positively affect hormone response because of the fiber and lignan effect on fat cells, which can lead to improved appetite control,” Beans can also help regulate estrogen.
Salmon
Fatty fish such as salmon and sardines provide excellent good fats for cell-to-cell communication, which leads to overall improved hormonal communication, This can lead to improved mood and cognition.
Leafy Greens
Nutrient-rich foods such as leafy greens are ideal for balancing hormones. Because they’re filled with so many antioxidants,
leafy greens help prevent inflammation and lower levels of stress, which can help improve cortisol levels, They can also help with estrogen balance.
