GIVING SALAAM WHEN JOINING A GATHERING AND WHEN LEAVING IT ✨
The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said:✨
“When one of you comes to a gathering, let him say Salam, and when he wants to leave let him say Salam, for the former is not more of a duty than the latter.”
📚: Abi Dawud 5208 | Hasan
“..Then a man in the gathering got up and did not give the greeting (salam). The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said:
“How quickly your companion forgets! When one of you comes to an assembly, he should give the greeting (salam). If he thinks he should sit down, he sits down. When he stands up, he gives the greeting (salam). Neither is a greater duty than the other.”
📚: Al-Adab Al-Mufrad 986 | Sahih
The Salam should be said both when joining and leaving a meeting, both are important and essential; it has reward and righteousness and also the supplication for good and peace.
