Today’s Beautiful Hadith is on Expiation of Sins.
Abu Hurairah, (may Allah be pleased with him) reported: that the Prophet, (peace be upon him), said: “When Allah wants to be good to someone, He tries him with some hardship.”
Nothing afflicts a Believer of hardship, nor illness, nor anxiety, nor sorrow, nor harm, nor distress, nor even the pricking of a thorn, but that Allah will expiate his sins by it.”
(Ṣaḥīḥ al-Bukhārī 5318, Ṣaḥīḥ Muslim 2573)
Uthman (May Allah be pleased with him) reported Allah’s Messenger,
(peace be upon him) as saying, “When the time for a prescribed prayer comes, if any Believer observes proper ablution, humility and bowing, it will be an expiation for his past sins, so long as he has not committed a major sin; and that means for all time.”
(Muslim)
Anas ibn Malik, (may Allah be pleased with him) reported: The Prophet, (peace be upon him), said, “Whoever forgets a prayer should pray it when he remembers.
There is no expiation other than this.”
(Ṣaḥīḥ al-Bukhārī 572, Ṣaḥīḥ Muslim 684)
According to the Holy Qur’an:
‘Indeed, Allah does not forgive association with Him, but He forgives what is less than that for whom He wills’.
(An-Nisaa 4 :48)
In the Qur’an and Hadith, Faith, Righteous deeds, Repentance, and Alms-giving in secret, among others things, are counted among the actions that expiate sins.
Good deeds that erase sin include Wudu’, the five daily prayers, Hajj and `Umrah.
Fasting, especially during Ramadan, is another means of seeking forgiveness for sins, with the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) stating that sincere fasting during Ramadan leads to the forgiveness of past sins.
Alhamdulillah! We have reached another Blessed Jumu’ah. May Allah swt accept our supplication.
As-salaam Alaykum Wa RamatuLlah Wa Barakatuhu.
