Abdur Rahman Bin Awf was the companion and friend of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) and was among the ten who were promised Paradise. He was born ten years after the Elephant year.
Abdur Rahman was one of the early converts of Islam. He faced the same problems and troubles which every Muslim faced in Makkah but stood by his belief. He then migrated to Madina and started a business there and became one of the wealthy men. He is known for his generosity and all the financial contribution and charity he did in the name of Allah Almighty and upon the asking of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH). His generosity and charity was remarkable and no one stood a chance against him in this regard.
