Muhammad accepted the proposal and both got married. She bore six children of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) namely Fatimah , Qasim, Zainab Muhammad, Ruqayyah , Umm Kulthum and Abullah. She was the first one to accept Islam after the first revelation on Prophet Muhammad (PBUH).

Khatijatul Kubra passed away on 11th of Ramadan, in 619 CE at the age of 65. She rests in peace in Jannatul Muallah in Makka. Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) regarded her as the noblest of women along with Sayyada Mariam (Virgin Marry).
