Safiyya Bint Huyayy was born in 610 CE, was Jewish by religion and afterwards became the wife of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH).
She came as a captive after the battle of Khyber. She belonged to a Jew family. However, when Prophet (PBUH) selected her for marriage, she converted to Islam. She was married before but was divorced by her husband. She married Prophet (PBUH) on their way back from Khyber. She did not bore any child of Prophet (PBUH). Later in her life, she became involved in politics and was a strong contributor to the political scenario at that time.
She died in 670 CE at the age of 60 and left a substantial amount of legacy. She lies at rest in Jannatul Baqi.
