﷽
➖➖➖
THE UNSTOPPABLE DEATH
➖➖➖
You cannot flee from it
➖➖➖Allah ﷻ is the one who called you in the Qur’an,
Ponder over this Ayaat with your heart and not your ears,
Allah ﷻ says
Wherever you may be, death will overtake you, even if you should be within towers of lofty construction.
[4:78]Elsewhere in the Qur’an Allah ﷻ says:
قُلْ إِنَّ الْمَوْتَ الَّذِى تَفِرُّونَ مِنْهُ
Say: Indeed the death which you flee from
Sometimes, when we hear the Imam talking about “Death”, we come out of the masjid and if someone mentions it in a gathering, we flee from it!
If there’s a chance of Death at work or on a journey, we don’t travel.
If theres a chance of Death on Hajj, we don’t make Hajj!
But Allah ﷻ says
You flee from it, but it will surely meet you.
How true is this!
Allah ﷻ carries on the Ayah,
Then you will be returned to the knower of the Unseen and the Seen and He will inform you with what you used to do
[62:8]We are at a point where our love of this Dunya is so high and at the forefront of our minds!
So we push Death to the back of our minds,
We avoid its mention, we avoid it all costs by all means, and we do everything in order to prevent what is the decree of Allah ﷻ!No matter how many specialists exist,
Or doctors,
Or how good technology gets,
Every soul shall taste death!
[3:185]And this continual forgetfulness of the one certainty we truly have,
Has led to our heedlessness, has led to our indulgence, has led to our negligence and excessiveness! One thing that we must remember is that death is inevitable, and everything will perish except the Creator ﷻ.
Signs of death can be seen all around us. At Jana’za we see people who were once walking among us being buried in their graves.
We need to start following the Prophet’s ﷺ advice!
“Remember often the destroyer of pleasures! (i.e death)”
[Sunan al-Tirmidhi 2307]Why?
Because after Death there is no repentance!
There is no doing more good deeds,
There is no more chance! Now your Akhirah begins,
With the extraction of the soul,
And your entrance into the grave
And your interrogation! And if you were to ponder, over whether anything in this Dunya is worth the punishment of the grave,
the squeezing of the grave,
The torture of the grave?Would you say yes?
Of course not!So let us let go our desires, and leave our indulgence,
In order to protect ourselves in the Akhirah,
Let us rather, indulge and be excessive in our obedience and worship!May Allah ﷻ forgive all our shortcomings and keep us steadfast upon His Deen.
