EPISODE 9⃣ – AL-KHALIQ (الخالق) – THE CREATOR
➖➖➖
Most people recognize that a meaningful page of text cannot be produced by random ink spills on paper; it requires an intelligent author. Similarly, the universe, with its signs of design, deserves acknowledgment from an intelligent creator. Allāh says:(Interpretation of the meaning) do they not look into the Dominion of the heavens and the earth and all that which Allāh has created
[Al-A”raf 7:185]
Despite the growing evidence of design, the scientific community often dismisses the concept of a Creator, clinging to the idea of randomness. However, the increasing number of specific conditions necessary for life to exist in the universe challenges the likelihood of life elsewhere.
Initially, scientists believed a planet needed only a suitable parent star and a specific distance from it to support life. However, the necessary conditions have grown to more than 200, making the chances of finding life as we know it increasingly rare. For example, the planet must be part of a spiral galaxy, have suitable orbits, possess an ozone layer, and feature the right ocean-to-continent ratio, among other factors. Dr. John Lennox, a mathematics professor, suggested that as we understand the universe better, the idea of a Creator gains credibility as the best explanation for our existence.
Even on Earth, the constant evolution of human inventions shows the signatures of the Creator. From the earliest mechanical land vehicles to modern cars and computers, each generation builds upon previous advancements, refining and improving the designs. In contrast, human beings remain unchanged in their intricate design, from the first man to the present day. The complexity of the human body, with its precise systems and functions, reveals the work of Allāh, the Creator.
Consider the journey of a sperm to an egg, the intricate processes of the heart, the brain’s vast memory storage capacity, the human retina, the tongue’s versatility, and the kidney’s miraculous filtration ability. Each of these examples showcases the perfection of Allāh’s creation. what can we say other than;
(Interpretation of the meaning) Blessed Be Allāh, the best of all creators.
[Al-Mu’minun 23:14]
Marvelling at Allāh’s creation is just the beginning; true understanding requires obedience to the divine manual, the Qur’ān, which offers guidance on every aspect of life.
The Qur’ān instructs believers to maintain family ties, resist forbidden desires, and avoid prohibited financial transactions. When faced with conflicting instructions from others, the Qur’ān should always take precedence.
Recognizing Allāh (ﷻ) as the Maker and the Commander, believers should prioritise His instructions above all else. Just as contacting a manufacturer is essential for dealing with damaged goods, turning to Allāh, the Creator, is the solution for addressing any aspect of life that seems damaged or injured. In embracing the miraculous universe and the Divine Manual, believers find guidance and purpose in their journey through life.
It’s common knowledge that the very first step in dealing with a damaged goods is to contact the manufacturer, but sometimes it’s not practical, sometimes it’s not even possible when there’s no address or they’re on the other side of the globe for whatever reason. As for your Maker, He’s never inaccessible or unavailable, so pinpoint that aspect of your life that you feel is damaged or injured; perhaps it’s your unending bachelorhood, your deteriorating health, your gripping anxiety, or your frail Iman. Then, after you’ve done that, raise your hands to Allāh (ﷻ) and realise that you have just accessed your very Creator.
May Allāh (ﷻ) make us among those whom are truly satisfied with Allāh (ﷻ) as their Creator.
اَلـلّٰـهُ أَعْلَمْ
اَلْحَمْدُ لِـلّٰـهِ رَبِّ الْعٰلَمِيْنَ
