In the last five years or so, if you sit down and calculate the money some Muslims have spent taking themselves to court and fight dirty, it is enough to build five standard Madrasah and Western schools where Muslim children can acquire knowledge, a place where the have and the have not can possibly acquire education to drive the propagation of the Deen, but are we thinking?
The begging industry belongs to a particular religion in this country, no one is looking in that direction, we are not organising conferences and seminars on how to raise the standard of the people, create opportunities and jobs, but are we thinking?
How many orphanage homes do we have in Nigeria, and how many are owned by Muslims? The Nigerian woman who built the largest orphanage home in Africa is not in the Deen, yet Muslims know the place of orphans in the religion, catering for them and managing their affairs, but instead of establishing orphanage and motherless babies homes, they are wasting money over issues they can resolve, visiting police stations, courts and correctional centers, are we thinking?
As at 2023, we have about 147 private universities in the country, and it has increased, how many do you have as Muslim tertiary institutions among others, and if at all, what’s the standard of these schools in the ranking of universities in Nigeria? The few Muslim schools are established by our older parents, the youths are busy going to police station, court and correctional center, are we thinking?
Unfortunately, the poorest states in Nigeria belong to a particular region and religion, you can find out yourself, if you are in doubt, we are not looking out for solutions, but creating more problems by offending ourselves and finding it very hard to come up with conflict resolution mechanisms that can help to nip issues in the bud, just as you are busy destroying one another, your enemies are surely not sleeping, are we thinking?
I am surprised when some Muslims who should know that to fight so dirty in public is not palatable are the ones behind the problems, it is quite embarrassing, it is surely a way of exposing yourselves to enemies if we have. Once you create divisions, the enemies will definitely use it against you, infact, they will encourage you to continue to fight so that they can get over you, If you’re not careful, you will end up sacrificing yourselves, just because you are not seeing the bigger picture, are we thinking?
There is this assertion that If you want to bring a Muslim down in a manner of speaking, do not use a non Muslim, get a Muslim like him to destroy everything he stands for, so at the end of the day, it will be a case of two Muslims sending themselves to destruction, and facilitators are like ghosts who pull the trigger behind the scene, are we thinking?
Muslims are into camps and sects, they now operate like hidden groups to attack themselves, they are preaching hatred and bitterness among themselves, they curse and attack at will and they celebrate the downfall of one another provided the fallen individual is not in their group. The consequences of our actions will be out soon, but I hope those who are sponsoring the anger, hatred and bitterness will be available to see it themselves, are we thinking?
When we decide to get busy with structures, the future will be so bright, but when we cling to laziness, slander and backbiting, I doubt if we can achieve more. On your own, think of how you can help to create awareness of how to serve Allah and better the lives of the people, do not contribute to the problem of this ummah, be a peace maker, use your resources to put smiles on the faces of those who do not have. If you cannot help the ummah to flourish, do not be part of the problem.
In years to come, we will wait to see the repercussions of what it’s been currently done on the ummah, I hope it will not be too late.
Always pay attention to details.
