ﷺ….🌹❤3 Preparations for the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ to welcome the month of Ramadan 🌹❤
By : Sarah Lathiif 🇮🇩
1. Practical preparation by fasting a lot in the month of Sha’ban
The Prophet Muhammad sallallaahu ‘alaihi wa sallam fasted a lot in the month of Sha’ban, as Usamah bin Zaid said below :
“Say, O Messenger of Allah, I have never seen you fasting for a month in any month other than the month of Shaban,” said Usamah bin Zaid to the Prophet Muhammad sallallaahu ‘alaihi wa sallam. Then, the Prophet sallallaahu ‘alaihi wa sallam said :
Meaning : The month of Shaban is the month in which humans begin to neglect, namely between the months of Rajab and Ramadhan. This month is the month when various deeds are raised to Allah, the Rabb of the universe. Therefore, I really like to fast when my practice is increased.
The same thing is also recorded in the history of the Prophet’s wife, `Aisyah radhiyallahu ‘anhaa :
From Aisyah radhiyallahu ‘anhaa said : “I never saw Rasulullah shallallahu ‘alaihi wa sallam fasting for a whole month except fasting in the month of Ramadan and I never saw him fasting more sunnah than (sunnah fasting) in the month of Sha’ban.”
📚 (HR. Bukhari no. 1969 and Muslim no. 1156)
In another narration Aisyah said :
“The month most loved by RasulAllah for sunnah fasting was the month of Sha’ban, then he connected it with the fast of Ramadan.”
📚 (H.R. Abu Daud no. 2431 and Ibnu Majah no. 1649)
The exact number of days he fasted in the month of Sha’ban has not been recorded, but it can be assumed that by the time Ramadan arrived, he was already in the habit of fasting every day. However, what is certain is that the Prophet did not fast for a whole month.
2. Ask for blessings when the crescent moon is seen
Every time the Prophet saw the crescent moon which marked the start of a new month, including Ramadan, he would make a special wish :
From Talhah bin ‘Ubaidillah, the Prophet sallallaahu ‘alaihi wa sallam when he saw the new moon, he said :
Meaning : O Allah, show us the month bringing blessings and faith, salvation and Islam. My Rabb and your Rabb (O crescent moon) is Allah.
📚 (Narrated by Ahmad, 1:162 and Tirmidhi, no. 3451, and Ad-Darimi. Tirmidhi said that this hadith is hasan gharib. Shaykh Al-Albani said that this hadith is authentic).
3. Remind people about the blessings of Ramadan and encourage them to do more good deeds
The Prophet said, “Ramadan has come to you, a month full of blessings, in which Allah subhanahu wa ta’ala commands you to fast.
At that time, the gates of heaven were opened and the gates of hell were closed, and every demon was chained. In it Allah has a night that is better than a thousand months. Whoever is deprived of goodness, indeed he is deprived.
📚 (Sunan Al-Nasa’i)
So you can see how the Messenger of Allah encouraged Muslims around him to increase their worship in the month of Ramadan, before it actually arrives, by mentioning additional rewards for righteous deeds during that month. Rasulullah tried to motivate them first.
This is what is narrated in the authentic history of the Prophet, about how the Prophet Muhammad sallallaahu’alaihi wa sallam prepared for the month of Ramadan.
HadanAllah Wa Iyyakum Ajma’in
🤲🌹。.。:∞♡♥♥
