🌳STARING ADDICTION 🌳🌳
👀🫀👀🫀👀🫀👀🫀👀🫀👀Is it possible for your eyes to fornicate?
Is there even such a thing as the eyes committing zina?
Well, the answer is… yes, and sadly, many most of us today are involved in such practice without realizing how serious it is.
We live in a time where we are vastly exposed to so much immorality, to the extent that it has been conveniently normalized by society. Whether on the streets or at home in our TV screens, computers and mobiles… trying to lower our gaze from every inappropriate view, scene or content that seems to casually exist or spring up at any time without forewarning has become a major struggle for many. But what’s truly unfortunate is that many of us have become so desensitized to these sights that we not only fail to make any efforts to lower our gazes from such haram, but rather what begins as a subconscious look, slowly evolves into a willful effort to pursue what is visibly forbidden for us to look at or watch.
The film and television industry as well as the internet have introduced us to a world that no longer values censorship. They have made the haram abundantly available to watch. Today, and more than ever, Muslims have joined the practice and with little shame, unbridled the protective cover of their eyes. A number of Muslims have fallen too deep and turned to porn (Auzubillah – we seek refuge from Allah from such). It’s a fact we can’t hide. It has become a great fitna and a serious addiction for many; This habit alters the brain function and can eventually take full control over the person’s conscience and slowly their will power, motivation, thinking skills and self-control start to diminish. Their faiths slowly get weaker and they no longer are Allah conscious. Relationships and families are destroyed because of such addition and nothing good ever comes out of this except depression, darkness and cry for help.
Ibn al-Qayyim (RMT) said:
The eye is the mirror of the heart, so if the slave lowers his gaze, the heart will lower its desires and whims, and if he lets his gaze wander, the desire in his heart will be released.”He also said… Shaytan Iblis tricks people in whatever way he can, and his power over them increases and decreases according to their alertness or negligence, their ignorance or knowledge.
Note that the heart is like a fortress, and the devils are always going around the fortress watching for the guards to become heedless.
The guard should know all the gates of the fortress which he has been appointed to guard, and he should not let his attention slip for a moment, for the enemy never lets his attention slip.A man said to Hasan al Basri: Does Iblis sleep?
He said: If he slept, we would have a break!
[Talbis Iblis, P.52 of Abu’| Faraj Ibn Al-JawzilWe ask Allah to help all those who are suffering from such addiction and every addiction which is harmful and impermissible.
Ya Allah if our sins are many, forgive them, If our faults become apparent, conceal it; If our difficulties increase, remove it, If our desires take us towards a wrong path, return it with beauty to goodness- and make us among Your righteous servants
