There is a serious disagreement in the marriage, the wife suggests counseling, the husband turns it down immediately, it shows the sister has been married to a naive brother. They are looking unto Allah for the fruit of the womb, the wife is advocating to visit the hospital, the husband is less of a concern, perhaps, he is already scouting for another sister without delay.
Whenever couples decide to see a marriage counselor, it means they are smart, intelligent and willing to make things work for the better. As a marriage counselor, I can tell you it is not easy to get couples together for counseling sessions especially the men, so any time you see both parties agree to do the needful, then it is wonderful.
In the face of demanding issues in marriage, both the husband and wife resolve to see a professional, that shows the maturity of the couple, only those who value marriage should be considered when seeking partners. A brother or sister that is not available for proper process before marriage should be discarded in a manner of speaking.
I salute the courage of our brothers and sisters seeking counseling sessions to judiciously respect the sanctity of matrimony, not those unrefined individuals who at the face of crisis, shun the means of reasoning. You are beating your wife, and due to her determination to keep the marriage, she suggests seeing family members or marriage counselor, yet Mr Husband refuses and says; ‘no one at my age can tell me anything about marriage’.
There is no perfect relationship or marriage, so at one point or the other, you might need to speak to someone else for proper communication in the union. We all have a duty to protect the sanctity of our marriages, get relationship and marriage skills to get the best out of your unions.
A successful marriage is not by luck, it takes prayer, knowledge and hardwork to get it right. Most marriages are run ignorantly and the effects are there for everyone to see.
Always pay attention to details.
