1️⃣- HUMILITY AND DIGNITY

Allāh (ﷻ) says:

And the servants of the Most Merciful are those who walk upon the earth easily, and when the ignorant address them [harshly], they say [words of] peace
(Al-Furqân 25:63)

Humility, basically, is the opposite of pride and arrogance. Both of these character traits can never be present together in one heart, because they are total opposites.

– To be humble means, to not see yourself as better than anyone, in all aspects, especially in the aspect of the Deen. It also means to not see yourself as below anyone (without striving to improve), as this trait has left the threshold of humility. There should be a certain balance between these two extremes.

Abu Dharr (رضي الله عنه) reported: My dear friend, the Prophet, (ﷺ), instructed me with virtuous traits. He instructed me not to look at those above me and to look at those below me.
(S‌ah‌i‌h‌ Ibn H‌ibba‌n 449)

-The Servants of the Most Merciful concern themselves with being humble in the religion. Every believer is to have a certain degree of fear and hope that his deeds will be accepted. There is no guarantee that one’s deed has been accepted, and more importantly, it is not the deeds of a man that guarantees him Jannah, no matter how plentiful they are.

Aisha (رضي الله عنها) reported: I asked the Messenger of Allāh, (ﷺ), about this verse, “Those who give what they give while their hearts are afraid,” (23:60). Aisha said, “Are these ones who drink wine and steal?” The Prophet said, “No, O daughter of the truthful, rather they are those who fast, pray, and give charity while they fear it will not be accepted from them. They are those who race towards virtue.”

Thank Allah if Many People Envy on You

(Sunan al-Tirmidhi‌ 3175)

We must always remember to thank Allāh (ﷻ) for granting us the tawfeeq to perform our acts of ibaadah, because it is not by our abilities that we get to worship Him (ﷻ). Also, we need to stop looking down at others who seem to have struggles with observing acts of worship, rather, we should advise them and pray for them.

May Allāh (ﷻ) grant us humility and tawfeeq. آمين
