<h2 style=”text-align: center;”>MY HUSBAND DECEIVED ME WITH HAJJ</h2>
He paid my passage to Hajj only for me to return and meet him with a new wife”, that is the story of an unhappy woman.According to this woman her husband gave her the good
news of letting her embark on the hajj, and he fulfilled it to the latter. On her return she was told by her husband that he has introduced another sister to the family. Initially she didn’t understand what he meant only for him to bring in a lady whom he introduced to her as her sister-in-marriage.
“Hajj, I have vowed never to live in this marriage. If I knew
this is what he intended doing I’ll never have accepted his offer of embarking on the Hajj.He deceived me with the hajj and I can
never forgive him.” She cried.According to the husband, he knew his wife would never accept his decision to add another wife hence that move.
I killed two birds with one stone; I fulfilled my wife’s desire to embark on the hajj whilst also achieving my own aim of adding another.
wife. I don’t think I did anything wrong.” He opined.
Now the wife is insisting that she can no longer trust her
husband and therefore she wants a release from the marriage whilst the husband also says he will never grant her wish since he still loves her.The issue is: Did the husband err in marrying without the consent of his wife?
Is the wife justified in asking for divorce?
Could he have done it in a better way even if the wife will not accepted his decision? What is your take on this issue? Base on Islamic perspective
