No at all, our religion does not teaches us to hit kids. The Prophet (P.B.U.H) said that “He is not of us who does not have mercy on young children, nor honor the elderly” (Al-Tirmidhi).So,it is obvious that our religion teaches us to remain merciful to kids.If someone think that it is the teaching of Islam then he is absolutely wrong.
Hitting children is neither recommended nor preferable in islam at all. But if all ways to teach your child fail and you need to make it clear it is serious then:
You can’t hit him unless he/she is older than 10.
Use your hand without raising it till your armpit shows, which means don’t hit hard, it’s just to dicipline them.
Don’t hit the face, head, stomach or private parts. Or any other part that would harm them or make them feel insulted.
You’re allowed only 3 hits.
Don’t do it while you’re mad. Wait until you calm down and remember you’re just letting them know they did something wrong and are not listening in all other ways.
If they ask you to stop for the sake of god or mention god in any other sentence you just stop immediatley.
