Below is the Hadith of the week.
The Prophet (S.A.W)said:
· “When ALLAH loves a person, HE calls out Angel Jibril (Gabriel) saying ‘ALLAH loves so and so; so love him [or her].’ Angel Jibril then loves the person, and announces to the residents of the Heavens that, ‘ALLAH loves so and so, therefore, you should love the person also.‘ So, all the residents of the Heavens would love the person, and then he [or she] is granted the pleasure of people on earth.” _(Narrated by Abu Hurairah in Sahih Bukhari 8:66)_
Imagine ALLAH – the Supreme, the Majestic, the Almighty, the Sublime, the Creator – calling out your name in the heavens and declaring HIS love for you in front of a pure and noble audience; as a result of which you are loved by the inhabitants of the heavens!
Imagine being mentioned in the noblest of gatherings above the seven heavens despite all your sins and ingratitude! You become a celebrity with ALLAH. What more could we want… than the love and pleasure of ALLAH.
HOW DO WE ATTAIN THE LOVE OF ALLAH?
The scholars have outlined several things to do incrementally to draw us closer to ALLAH’s love.
Some of them are:
1. Repentance: ALLAH loves those who constantly repent and turn back to HIM, knowing that HE is the All-Forgiving and the Pardoner. No matter how often you repeat a sin, and no matter how big your sins are, you should constantly turn to HIM for forgiveness. “Indeed! ALLAH loves those who are constantly repentant.” (Q2:222).Anytime you do something bad, you should immediately seek forgiveness and do a good deed to wipe out the bad deed. Do not get tired of repenting to ALLAH because HE never gets tired of forgiving you. The Prophet (S.A.W) said, “Every son of Adam commits sin, and the best of those who commit sin are those who repent.” (recorded in Ibn Majah)
2. Purification: ALLAH loves when a person purifies themselves from impurities, both major and minor. It is therefore good to try and be in ablution (wuduh) all the time. “Indeed, ALLAH loves those … who purify themselves.” (Q 2:222).
3. Consciousness of ALLAH: ALLAH loves those who are conscious of HIM in whatever they do. Being conscious of HIM means acting righteous, obeying HIS commands, and abstaining from HIS prohibitions to the best of your abilities.
This does not mean you will not sin. Instead, it means that you strive as much as possible not to fall into sin. But when you eventually succumb to your desire and fall into sin, you immediately seek HIS forgiveness. “Indeed, ALLAH loves the righteous.” (Q 09:04)
4. Doing good deeds: This includes being kind to everyone, your family (parents, spouse, children, siblings, relatives, etc.), non-Muslims (show them the beauty of Islam), and animals, etc. Doing good also includes spending for ALLAH’s sake during ease and hardship, restraining your anger, and forgiving people who wrong you. “The best of people are those who are most beneficial to people.” (Al-Mujam al-Awsat). “And Allah loves the doers of good.” (Q 3:134).
5. Trust in ALLAH: The Prophet (S.A.W) said, “If you were to rely upon ALLAH with the required reliance, then HE would provide for you just as a bird is provided for, it goes out in the morning empty, and returns full” (At-Tirmidhi).
“Indeed, ALLAH loves those who rely upon HIM ”(Q 3:159)
The scholars, however, warn that relying on ALLAH does not mean sitting idle and waiting for divine intervention or being lazy, expecting things to just happen. Rather, it means taking the necessary steps to do whatever you can and leaving the rest to ALLAH. After all, even the bird has to make an effort by flying out every morning to search for food without waiting for the food to come to it.
6. Be fair and just in all your dealings: Islam demands that we act just and fair to everyone regardless of their race, religion, ethnicity, age, gender, or status. “Indeed, ALLAH loves those who act justly.” (Q 5:42)
7. Exercise patience: There are three types of patience. The first is patience during difficult times. This means not complaining or feeling despair about your situation. Rather, you bear the difficulties and tests with patience, trusting that ALLAH will bring relief sooner or later.
The second is patience in doing what ALLAH has commanded, including praying and fasting in Ramadan, especially when the days are long, giving zakat, and performing Hajj.
The third is patience in abstaining from the things that ALLAH has prohibited, including usury, gambling, pork, alcohol, and illegal sexual relations. “And ALLAH loves those who are steadfast.” (Q3:146)
SIGNS THAT ALLAH LOVES YOU
We usually measure ourselves with worldly standards – I am not successful enough, not famous enough, not wealthy enough; but if we become among those whom ALLAH mentions by our names, then what will these worldly successes mean in comparison to ALLAH’s love?
Attaining the love of ALLAH trumps all.
Below are some signs that some scholars have outlined as indications of ALLAH’s love for you.
If you find yourself doing one or more of these things, then it is a sign of ALLAH’s love for you.
· When you find yourself wanting to know more about ALLAH and drawing closer to HIM, learning the Quran and seeking more religious knowledge.
· When you find yourself trying hard to stop your bad behaviour for fear of ALLAH.
· When you find yourself acting just and fair to people around you.
· When you find yourself trying as much as you can to obey ALLAH.
· When you find yourself placing your complete trust in ALLAH, no matter what.
· When you find yourself constantly asking for forgiveness (even if you think you have not done anything wrong).
· When you find yourself remaining patient and waiting for ALLAH’s mercy in bad times.
· When you find yourself thanking ALLAH whenever something good happens to you.
· When you find yourself performing ablution (wuduh) and staying in wuduh all the time, renewing your ablution anytime it breaks.
· When you find yourself doing more and more good deeds.

May ALLAH make us of those whom HE singles out to declare HIS love for. May HE (The Exalted) call our names in the Highest heavens and cause us to love HIM and be loved by HIM and everyone else. Aamiin 🍇😇🤲😅
Assalam alaykum waramotulah wabarakatuh.
