Abu Lahab was the uncle of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH). He was one of the enemies of Islam at the time of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH). Abu Lahab was also condemned in the Holy Quran. His full name was Abd-al-Uzza. However, he was called Abu Lahab, as his cheeks were red or inflamed.
His two sons were Utaybah Bin Abu Lahab and Utbah Ibn Abu Lahab. Initially Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) got protection because of the family of Abu Lahab, but later on when he was praying near Khana Kaaba, he was subjected to abuse and Abu Lahab threw entrails of the sacrificed goat all over him.
Abu Lahab died because of a wound in his head. It later became septic and its poison spread very quickly all over his body.
